Introduction
The oximeter is a measuring device for determining the local oxygen saturation in the blood. It is used at a cardiac catheter measuring station. It can be used flexibly thanks to its Bluetooth connection to the cardiac catheter measuring station. The local blood oxygen saturation in the heart chambers is determined during an examination with the catheter without additional blood sampling.
Task
seleon was responsible for the development of the oximeter until the device was ready for series production. The device is to be characterized by a compact, robust design, minimal power consumption, wireless operation and wireless data transmission. Various operating states shall be indicated by acoustic signals. The measuring device shall withstand surface disinfection.
Solution
The oximeter is placed directly on the corresponding measuring cannula by the physician at the measuring catheter site. When the physician draws blood via the catheter, the automatic measurement of blood oxygen saturation starts. In addition to the optical display, the measured value is immediately sent wirelessly to the PC. The wireless use of the oximeter allows good integration into the working environment at the cardiac catheterization site without any restriction of movement.
An improvement in usability is mainly due to the wireless use. The data of the automatically induced blood oxygen saturation can be transmitted wirelessly to the PC, there is no restriction of movement.
